Environment
A financial investment company performs the basic role of making up its activity as a professional shareholder, including strategic decisions on asset arbitrage, investments and disinvestment, selection and motivation of managers, and financial engineering. In order to sustain growth and adapt to financial evolution and regulation, the client made the decision to review their entire information processing systems. Due to the nature of their activity, it paid a particular attention to the safety of its communications and to the safeguard of information as well thanks to personalized files with legal authenticity.
Solution
A global solution of enterprise servers was implemented by Trasys to meet the various needs of the client, coupled with a backup solution using a tape library and an antivirus control to guarantee the perenity of the information. A mail server was installed to start urgent in-house interventions and in a second phase to provide access to the external world.
The security aspects have been handled via a highly safe Internet access device that guarantees secure access to internal confidential information, allow collaborators to consult their documents and messages in and outside the client’s offices, divert undesirable emails and fight possible intrusions.
Benefits
At any time and anywhere, the 25 users supported to are able to share information via a highly secure virtual network, whether they are interconnected via their laptops or their PDAs. Information is available locally or remotely in real-time, resulting in an immediate and measurable increase of productivity. Moreover, the homogeneously-made data-processing environment runs at much lower cost compared to the previous one and has been especially designed to be managed by a single person.
