Case
International organisation - SAP Implementation project
Many of our projects address critical and strategic issues for our customers who, therefore, choose to not disclose their name”.
Environment
A main decision-making body organisation of the European Union, together with the European Court of Auditors and the European Court of Justice, established a treaty to carry out the audit of EU finances with the purpose of improving EU financial for the financial interests of the citizens of the Union. The objective of project was to replace a number of legacy system and applications by one integrated system base upon SAP ERP. The ambitious project covered the areas of budgetary management, financial management, contracts, purchases and stock management.
Solution
Trasys was assigned to the realization of this project in consortium with Siemens Information Services. The customer and the 2 Courts had already designed their new target benchmark processes. So the first phase was the blueprinting of these target processes within SAP. Thanks to a quick prototyping, the new processes could be demonstrated to the key users and the target processes could be improved, fine tuned and adapted to the technical possibilities. The construction of the new system started was coupled with intensive training of the 300 key users, together with acceptance tests.
When the application went life in 2008, the development team stayed on board to provide a direct assistance and to help whenever required. A central helpdesk was also created and progressively took over the assistance to the end users.
Benefits
The benefits of such a project come from the integration of the various applications in terms of financial regulation and budgetary management. Thanks to the integration, the logistic operations can be integrated to the budget management as from the very first step, reserving resources for their realization. Later on, when the requirements are approved and become real purchases and amounts to be paid, the budget is always available, and the complete process can be executed without redundancy.
