Technical services - Industrial SAP implementation project

Environment

Fabricom GTI, part of Suez Group, is the Belgian leader in terms of innovative technical installations and services for the industry, energy, tertiary and infrastructure markets. Its expertise covers a wide and varied range of technical disciplines, including electrical, instrumentation, mechanical and industrial installations. Fabricom GTI was facing a major reorganisation process, merging several companies with different working procedures and IT systems. The main objective was to harmonize the back-office and business processes supported by a single ERP software. In the frame of the integration program of its operational and administrative organisation, Fabricom GTI launched a SAP implementation of all its administrative and financial processes including accounting, sales, project financials, purchasing, warehouses management and human resources management.

Solution

Trasys was awarded the responsibility to manage and implement all the phases of this major project, covering the study phase, the blueprint, the processes harmonisation, the realisation & testing, the rollout of 10 companies, and the final company merge. The project was implemented upon the “Value SAP” methodology” with a team of 25 consultants. This large scope implementation covered the SAP Finance & Controlling, Material Management, Plant Maintenance, Project System, Sales and Distribution, HR and Business Warehouse. Trasys undertook huge efforts in change management, covering training on the new business rules, the different modules and the internal promotion of the solution as well.

Benefits

The project brought the opportunity for Fabricom GTI to harmonize its processes and align its organisation into a fully integrated group, resulting in significant performance improvement and cost reductions through economies of scale. The standardisation of the business and financial rules supported by an integrated SAP ERP solution, together with a comprehensive reporting, is a unique tool at corporate level to evaluate and improve the KPI’s at all organisation levels.
